A lipid nanoparticle formulation degrades an immunosuppressive receptor on tumour-associated macrophages through its lipids alone, while its messenger RNA cargo reprograms these cells in situ into anti-tumour chimeric antigen receptor macrophages, reshaping the immune microenvironment of malignant ascites in gastrointestinal cancer.
