Update on our scrutiny of the impact assessments from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero
The Regulatory Policy Committee received the final impact assessments for the Energy Independence Bill from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on 3 November 2026. The impact assessments were published on GOV.UK on 4 November 2026.
We are independently scrutinising the quality of the evidence and analysis used by the department to support the case for regulation. Our opinion of the impact assessments will be published for transparency as soon as our scrutiny process has been completed.
